I like to time my journey to make sure I get a hearty Bluebells breakfast.  The picture below was taken on my last trip in October 2012.

It’s also a great place to pick up some excellent ingredients for your stay.  They have a farm shop which sells a wide range of food, including fresh bread and some of the best pork sausages I’ve tasted.  You can even pick up some fine Isle of Wight beer, although I’d avoid the garlic ale if I were you.

So next time you’re visiting the Priory, why not drop in. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

I’m sure you’ll agree that the result is excellent.  We have new slate floor tiles; some of the mosaic tiles have been refitted; and all of the silicone sealant has been replaced.  The work has been completed to a very high standard and the bathroom is like new and ready for your next visit.

At this time of year, things change a little on the Isle of Wight.  Some hotels and other tourist businesses shut up shop for the winter.  The island becomes a quieter place and this can be the perfect opportunity for a peaceful short break.

During this quieter season, we let the apartment for short 3 or 4 night breaks, as well as the usual one or two week lettings.

Although there are fewer tourists, the island still retains its breathtaking scenery, nice walks and superb selection of pubs & restaurants.  As a further bonus, you’ll find the cost of renting the apartment and the ferry costs are distinctly cheaper.  So, why not pop over and enjoy a pleasant break from the mainland chaos.

When I arrive at the Isle of Wight and drive off the Wightlink ferry at Fishbourne, it’s always nice to park up somewhere nice and have a bite to eat.

A couple of years ago I discovered a delightful café called Bluebells at Briddlesford. It’s nicely positioned en route to the Priory. They provide a lovely selection of food all at reasonable prices. It’s also one of the few places on the island where I can expect a good Café Latte. Their breakfasts are superb and are served until 11.30am. They also serve lunch and dinner. All of their meals are made using quality ingredients and they don’t skimp on portion sizes.

Bluebells is a working dairy farm and also has a farm shop that is worth a visit while you’re there.

So next time you’re on the Island, why not pop in. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

We have recently decided to change our standard changeover day from Saturday to Friday. This means that a normal week’s holiday will run from Friday to Friday.

This will help us to facilitate out of season short breaks. For the peak season, we only accept full week bookings. However, for the less busy times we are now happy to accept short breaks also. This facility will soon be available from the ‘Availability’ section.
